Biggest Announcements From Facebook Connect: Oculus Quest 2, Splinter Cell, More
Facebook Connect's keynote has delivered some big news regarding the future of Oculus VR efforts.
Facebook has kicked off Facebook Connect, which it dubs the "biggest AR/VR conversation of the year." The all-day event will feature panels and speakers on topics as diverse as VR storytelling, hosting live events, and the potential of VR for social impact. The day will end with a talk from developer John Carmack, followed by an after-party performance by Jaden Smith.
Things kicked off with a keynote, where a bunch of big news was shared, including the reveal of new games and Oculus hardware. You can check out all of the news below. In advance of the event, we got to go hands-on with the brand-new headset, which you can read all about in our Oculus Quest 2 review.
Oculus Quest 2

Oculus Quest 2 is the next standalone headset from Facebook, and it comes in at a surprisingly low starting price of $300. It features a variety of enhancements and new Touch controllers. Preorders are now live.
Assassin's Creed and Splinter Cell
More surprising than a new headset was the reveal that two Ubisoft franchises are coming to Oculus devices, including a revival of Splinter Cell.
New Oculus Games
Those Ubisoft games are not the only thing on the way, however, and we've rounded up all of the newly announced Oculus games from Facebook Connect.
Oculus Rift Headsets Are Going Away
Facebook is shifting its focus to standalone VR headsets like Quest 2. As a result, PC-reliant Rift headsets are being phased out.
How To Watch The Facebook Connect Event Live
Facebook will broadcast its Facebook Connect event through the official site, along with videos on demand. That's also where you'll find the full speaker list, complete with times for each speaker.
