Also available on the Xbox Marketplace is a $90 Fallout 4 Digital Deluxe Bundle, which comes with a copy of the game and the DLC Season Pass. If you already preordered the Digital Deluxe Bundle, do not buy the Season Pass, as you'll be charged twice.
As announced previously, the Fallout 4 DLC Season Pass comes with multiple expansions to the post-apocalyptic role-playing game, the first of which will launch in 2016.
"Since we're still hard at work on the game, we don't know what the actual DLC will be yet, but it will start coming early next year," Bethesda said in September. "Based on what we did for Oblivion, Fallout 3, and Skyrim, we know that it will be worth at least $40, and if we do more, you'll get it all with the Season Pass."
We've also now learned that Fallout 4's DLC will not be exclusive to any one platform. Bethesda has also defended its decision to announce the game's DLC before the game is even out.
In addition, everyone who preorders Fallout 4 on Xbox One gets a free copy of Fallout 3, which will be playable on Xbox One through backwards compatibility.
DLC is just one part of Bethesda's post-release plans for Fallout 4. The game's Creation Kit--the same tool Bethesda's own designers use at the studio--will arrive on PC in "early" 2016, allowing people to make whatever they want. Some of these mods will then come to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 after that.
In addition, Bethesda says it is planning "regular free updates" to Fallout 4. As was the case for Skyrim, these will introduce fixes and new features alike. Some of Skyrim's post-launch new features, for example, were mounted combat, a kill cam, and a legendary mode, among other things.
The Fallout 4 release date is set for November 10 across PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
