Fallout 4 Flaming Sword Weapon Built in Real Life, Looks Amazing

Fallout 4's flaming sword weapon, the Shishkebab, has been forged in real life. Maker Media's Make division tapped Platinumfungi to build it alongside Make's Caleb Kraft--and the results are stunning.

The goal was to be "as true to the concept art as possible," and it needed to actually work. As you can see in the video, they seemed to get it right, though some changes were made.

Kraft admits their weapon does deviate somewhat from the concept art (see it below), in that they could not reproduce the fuel canister design in the time they had. Plus, Kraft says, "their piping also didn't make any sense." As such, they created a different ignition system for the weapon--but the results are the same.

The entire build process took five days, and they even put together a Fallout 4 costume, complete with a hand-made Pip-Boy. Fallout fans are a creative bunch. Before this, we saw in-game characters based on people like Trevor from Grand Theft Auto V, Geralt from The Witcher, and Nigel Thornberry, among others.
