Fallout 4 Season Pass Currently Free on UK PlayStation Store

[Update 1] The loophole has been fixed.

[Update] The loophole appears to have been fixed. The season pass can no longer be downloaded for free.

The season pass for Bethesda's Fallout 4 is currently available to purchase for free on the UK PlayStation Store.

Internal tests at GameSpot can confirm that shoppers can add the item, which ordinarily costs upwards of £35, and complete the purchasing process without paying. Evidence can be found below.

It is likely this is due to an error, and that Sony's retail and software teams are looking to fix it. GameSpot has contacted Bethesda for clarification on the issue, and has asked whether those who have taken advantage of the accidental giveaway will have their purchases revoked.

The Fallout 4 season pass entitles owners to numerous expansions for the open-world post-apocalyptic RPG. The first, called Automatron, introduces the Mechanist, a character who releases a "horde of evil robots" into post-apocalyptic Boston. Among these is the "devious Robobrain." Players are tasked with tracking them down and use their parts to build their own robot.

"Choose from hundreds of mods; mixing limbs, armor, abilities, and weapons like the all-new lightning chain gun," Bethesda said. "Even customize their paint schemes and choose their voices."

Bethesda plans to then release the Wasteland Workshop by April.

"With the Wasteland Workshop, design and set cages to capture live creatures--from raiders to Deathclaws," reads a line from its official description. "Tame them or have them face off in battle, even against your fellow settlers. The Wasteland Workshop also includes a suite of new design options for your settlements like nixi tube lighting, letter kits, taxidermy, and more."

Far Harbor rounds out the three when it launches in May. In it, you take on a mission from the Valentine's Detective Agency to find a young woman and a "secret colony of synths."

Bethesda claims that Far Harbor is the largest piece of content--in terms of landmass--that Bethesda has ever created for an expansion. It is set within the coast of Maine, and given the name, we'd imagine it will be a post-apocalyptic version of Maine's popular seaside tourist location Bar Harbor.

"Travel off the coast of Maine to the mysterious island of Far Harbor, where higher levels of radiation have created a more feral world," Bethesda said.

"Navigate through the growing conflict between the synths, the Children of Atom, and the local townspeople. Will you work towards bringing peace to Far Harbor, and at what cost? Far Harbor features the largest landmass for an add-on that we've ever created, filled with new faction quests, settlements, lethal creatures and dungeons. Become more powerful with new, higher-level armor and weapons. The choices are all yours."

Beyond these three expansions, which Bethesda labeled the "first series of add-ons," there will be more content coming that will be announced later. Bethesda said it will deliver "more than $60/£50 worth of new Fallout adventures and features" in 2016.

@drivinggod2005:

At least:

"Multiple people on the GameSpot team have successfully been able add the item, which ordinarily costs upwards of £35, and complete the purchasing process. "

That's all that really matters in the end.

So GS contacted Bethesda to inform them about it instead of giving more time for people to use the opportunity?
