Bethesda has published the next S.P.E.C.I.A.L. "educational" video for Fallout 4, this one providing an overview of how players can utilize "Perception" in a post-nuclear world. Last week's video focused on Strength, while next week's will highlight Endurance.

"It is the unfortunate truth that when you go above ground, you will be faced with many post-nuclear nuisances," the narrator says at the start of the video.

The movie then dives into Fallout 4's Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System (VATS), which, as it worked in Fallout 3, lets players scan their enemies to pinpoint their areas of weakness. The higher your perception, the more accurate you will be. "You'll put Davy Crocket to shame!" the video says.

Bethesda Game Studios enlisted the help of Doom developer id Software for Fallout 4's new and improved shooting mechanics.

In Fallout 4, your Perception rating can also help keep you safe in "morally ambiguous" moments, including when stealing loot. Watch the full video above to learn more.

This series comes from the fictional Vault-Tec organization, and talks about a person's seven defining attributes: Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility, and Luck.

In other news about Fallout 4, Bethesda has announced post-launch plans for it, including regular free updates, paid DLC, mods, and more. In addition, Fallout 3's Three Dog voice actor has confirmed he won't be back for Fallout 4. The actor, Erik Todd Dellums, claims he was never even asked to audition.

The Fallout 4 release date is set for November 10 across PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
