Update: The first Fallout 76 patch of the new year is arriving a little sooner than expected for some players. Bethesda announced that it will now roll out its planned January 14 update on January 10 for PC. The update will then arrive on PS4 and Xbox One early next week. The original story follows.

Bethesda continues to iron out issues in Fallout 76, with a couple of new patches on the way for the game soon. In a new post on its website, the developer shared details on some of the tweaks and changes it'll be rolling out for the online RPG this month.

Now Playing: New Fallout 76 Patch Has Over 150 Bug Fixes - GS News Update

The first update is slated to arrive next week, on January 14. This one will focus primarily on making further improvements to the game's performance and stability. Bethesda says the patch will also resolve a number of issues that have been raised by players, such as fixing exploits and tweaking Perks and weapons. Full patch notes will be shared next week.

Beyond that, Bethesda is working on another patch that it plans to launch "near the end of the month." This one will likewise focus on making community-requested fixes for various issues in the game, among them the number of plans that Vendors have available and other problems with Perks.

Bethesda has many other features and fixes in store for Fallout 76 this year. The developer had previously teased that it will introduce new quests, Vault openings, weekly events, and other content to the game in 2019, as well as a new PvP mode. On top of that, Bethesda says it will implement Player Vending, suggesting that users will be able to sell their unwanted loot for in-game currency.

As a thank-you to fans, last month Bethesda announced it is giving away the Fallout Classic Collection for PC to anyone who logged into the full version of Fallout 76 on any platform in 2018. The gift is now available for those who've qualified and can be downloaded through the Bethesda Launcher. Full instructions on how to grab the game can be found here.

I love that the game is failing. It's as if the entire public became stupid, and didn't ask a single Elder Scroll Online player what happens when Bethesda has a game update...

I was gifted this game over Christmas and gave it a try a couple weeks ago, the lack of a main story or strong reason to keep going makes me miss past Fallouts. At college playing Fallout on a HP PC windows 98 2nd edition ... ah how good.

F76 You play through all of the abilities and check out the sparse boorish areas farming materials and you go..... this isn't a bit fun. It just makes me miss Fallout NV, and fallout 3 that much more. F4 also was cool but by the 3rd act, not alot of reasons to push my character forward - differing factions weakened what a strong antagonist could have provided more. (in F4)

This game however gives the player a huge sand box with alot of little things to do, but .... little reason to keep doing them. Few if any glitches encountered by me but there has been a lot of updates since it launched.

Too bad all their "performance" updates seem to do nothing. The game became so laggy and the disconnects were so frequent, that you couldn't even get immersed into the game. And seeing as how many things like Workshops require you to stick to one server to reap any benefit, getting disconnected every 20-30 minutes ruins that part of the game.

Servers are so unstable, loot progression is awful, enemies despawn frequently so you can't loot them after killing, etc. Eventually the game just became a constant struggle to farm screws, which are ALWAYS in short supply. I feel like many of the performance problems would be fixed with private servers, but those seem to be a long ways away. Servers just got worse with time, and made the game very unfun. Nothing like having to do a quest 5 times because you keep getting disconnected before you can finish.

Oh and their "thank you" to fans was the Fallout Classic Collection, which everyone got for preordering the game anyways.

I've given up on the game after hitting level 55. The crashes, server disconnects and glitches have actually gotten worse. And they always happen at the worst of times. Like when I killed my first ScorchBeast only to have his body despawn the second it hit the ground. NO LOOT FOR YOU! Or going through Fort Defiance, game crashes, going through again, server disconnect, going through again, server disconnect, going through a fourth time to try to continue the quest, game freezes, load the game to try one last time and the quest is broken...... And I am really, really, really getting tired of getting the phantom weight bug every time I have to remove my armor or get killed because the lag is so bad, mobs are bashing you to death but they're not on the screen yet. Take off power armor, repair weapon, lose 200lb of weight capacity, reboot game. Take off power armor to use a glitched terminal, lose 200lb of weight capacity, reboot game. Rinse and repeat. The game is soooo much work due to glitches and crashes. Oh, and the bug where you use stimpacks during a battle and regain full health but still go down and have to watch your character time out and die with full health is particularly wonderful. At least give me my Stimpacks back if the healing didn't really heal me despite the fact it healed me.....

@bdrtfm: I've played for over 40 hours on xbox and aside from 3 crashes the game has been a lot of fun.
