Disney Interactive and Harmonix today announced that longtime industry composer Inon Zur is creating original music for the upcoming Xbox game Fantasia: Music Evolved.

Zur has composed music for numerous high-profile games, including Fallout 3, Dragon Age: Origins, and Lord of the Rings: War in the North, among others.

He composed, conducted, and produced many of the orchestral themes for Fantasia: Music Evolved and collaborated with Disney and Harmonix on new versions of classic symphonies from Mussorgsky and Vivaldi.

Zur also arranged and produced the orchestral version of Queen's famous "Bohemian Rhapsody" for Fantasia: Music Evolved. The music was recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra and The Academy of St. Martin in the Fields at Abbey Road.

Fantasia: Music Evolved, based on 1940 film Fantasia, was announced in June for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Players use the Kinect motion control technology to manipulate the flow of music. Gamers can change the mix of songs in real time, mashing up the original recording and remixed versions, or even adding layers of music via "magical manipulators."

In all, Fantasia: Music Evolved features more than 30 tracks, which include two remixes in addition to the original recordings. The current announced artist and song list is below.

Antonio Vivaldi - "Four Seasons: Winter: 1st Movement"
AVICII - "Levels"
Bruno Mars - "Locked Out of Heaven"
Fun - "Some Nights"
Kimbra - "Settle Down"
Queen - "Bohemian Rhapsody"

Fantasia: Music Evolved launches for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One in 2014.

This would have been a good idea if it wasn't so hopelessly out of sync and off beat. Watching this as a black man truly hurts. >.<

Geez, hire some people who make it work in sync.

I do like Music in Fallout 3, and as a big fan o Fallout games i think he did a great job there. For me personally it was as good as Mark Morgan music to Fallout and Fallout 2.

@xMantaSx Yeah I got excited thinking they were referring to Mark Morgan. Wish they would specific WHICH Fallout, as that's rather important in number criteria.

Sounds like a horribly gimmicky waste of time.

I watched a livestream of the Harmonix crew playing this, and I gotta say it looks fantastic in motion. It looks like it plays like none of their other rhythm games

Inon Zur is a genius. He did the music to the 2008 Prince of Persia game as well and that has to be one of my favourite soundtracks ever.

@MasterTheHero @Zarkhaine No, sands of time came out in 2003. That's why I said '2008 Prince of Persia'. Please pay attention :)

I like the idea a lot. Hope it turns out successful. If it was available on PS, I would buy to support it.

I'm getting this game, in spite of naysayers. I think it could be fun and relaxing to sit in front of the TV and manipulate your favorite music like a composer.
