Level-5 has revealed that Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time will be a Nintendo Switch 2 launch title, and that players who already own the game on Switch 1 will be able to upgrade for just $2.59.

Compared to the Nintendo Switch version, Level-5 states that Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will feature reduced load times, improved visuals, and a higher frame rate. Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is set to retail for $62.58, reflecting the fact that a Switch 2 Edition upgrade pack from the Switch version will cost $2.59.

This is significantly cheaper than the paid upgrades for other Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games, as the upgrades for one like Kirby and the Forgotten Land will cost up to $20. The caveats to all of this is that the Digital Deluxe Edition will only be available for Switch, not Switch 2, and that several Switch 1 games are getting free upgrades for Nintendo's new console.

Fantasy Life i is a follow-up to a cult classic 3DS title where players can take on a variety of different jobs as they live their life in a fantasy world. After several delays, Fantasy Life i finally came out earlier this month and has been a surprise hit. The same post confirming the Switch 2 version of Fantasy Life i also reveals that 500,000 copies of the game have already been sold. That sales accomplishment is being celebrated with a free in-game gift for players who enter the code A5C9X7VR.

Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time is now available for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch. It will then come out on Nintendo Switch 2 as a June 5 launch title.
