Far Cry 6 got a new gameplay trailer during the Xbox and Bethesda games showcase, giving a glimpse at some of the weapons at players' disposal. The trailer showed off both stealth gameplay and all-out destruction. It also showed another animal for hire, with a rooster helping Dani Rojas clear enemy camps.

The trailer showed Dani sneaking behind enemies and taking them down quietly with a bow and throwable hatchets. After that, the player used a sniper rifle to take down a high-value target from a distance. It also showed off a high number of weapons and vehicles, plus the game looks far more colorful than previous Far Cry titles.

The different DIY weapons available in Far Cry 6 are inspired by the Cuban phrase, "Resolver." In Spanish, it means "to solve" but for Cubans, it means making what you have work.

"Because importing items was so challenging, Cubans had to make do with whatever they already had on the island," says lead game designer David Grivel in a press release. "That's why, for instance, we see so many American cars from the '60s still running over there. But 'Resolver' is not just about maintaining objects, it's also about creating new ones."

This philosophy was applied to Dani, who needs to function as a one-person army in their battle to free Yara. Dani can get a variety of handmade weapons, like the CD shooter or a minigun made from an old motorbike engine. There are also a number of special, limited-use backpacks. The backpacks range from a rocket barrage, a flamethrower, or a healing backpack.

Like previous entries, Fry Cry 6 will have the option to play through the game in co-op, although Ubisoft has not shared details on how exactly it will look this time around. The game will also feature moments of third-person gameplay, meant to highlight Dani as a character and any customizations players make.

Narrative director Navid Khavari said that the game will be political, dealing with topics of fascism, imperialism, forced labor, and more as they relate to guerrilla warfare. While the game won't provide commentary on the real-life examples it is inspired by like Cuba, Khavari says it will have a nuanced story about violent revolution.

Far Cry 6 launches on October 7, on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, and PC. The game is also coming to Stadia.
