Fidget Spinner Simulator Has New Vape DLC

This is actually real.

Fidget Spinner Simulator, an absurd $1 Steam game that lets you virtually experience the joys of fidget spinners, has added a new piece of DLC that is 30 times more expensive than the game itself.

The "Premium Member DLC," as it's called unlocks the "Premium Member" achievement and gives you a "Premium Gold Plated" fidget spinner and a gold plated vape pen. Here's what those items look like in the game (via NeoGAF):

No Caption Provided

In the comments of the DLC announcement post, a developer responded to criticism of the content, saying, "Why? It's easy not to buy the DLC right? Nobody is forcing anybody." A emoticon of President Donald Trump's face was attached to the comment.

The Premium Member DLC is listed at $30 after a price drop from $50. In announcing the DLC, the developer said, "Ayyyy lmao," with a pepe the frog emoticon.

In Fidget Spinner Simulator, you use the arrow keys or W A S D to move around on a hoverboard. Pressing the Space bar activates/deactivates the fidget spinner.

Fidget Spinner Simulator was released at the end of July. It has a "Mostly Positive" critical reception on Steam after more than 240 reviews. For more, head to the game's Steam page here.

The crap they let on Steam these days, it's pretty much the Google Play store. The crazy thing is Sony is also following in Valves footsteps.

I took a few moments and read down the comments, and it seems absolutely no one is getting the satire of the DLC, nor the social commentary of the game as a whole.

Guess modern gamers really do need things read out and spoonfed to them.

@milesprower06: Yes, we get it. It's a case of "Cards Against Humanity" all over again. But this one is even more ridiculous. As ridiculous as it sounds.

@milesprower06:I don't think anyone missed the heavy-handed "satire." It's still clearly an attempt to make a quick buck off of suckers.

I saw this the other day looking for a VR game to buy, this and the Rich Life simulator just really get on my nerves.

There is already too much garbage on Steam, this is just disappointing that such a thing was even approved.

Meanwhile, GameSpot spotlights crap like this, but doesn't cover legitimate game news. There are so many good indie games and hidden gems to review, but nope. Hell, they don't even review a lot of games from established developers anymore. Yet, GameSpot chooses to promote copyright infringement, piracy, bad games, blockbusters that already promote themselves out the ass, and it's regurgitating its own articles, (three times that I've counted this month's Games with Gold article jumping to the top).

Anyone have any suggestions for a better source of gaming news? I think I'm through with GameSpot based on all their crap recently, (for years really). I've just been denying how bad they are for so long because of habit. I've heard IGN and Kotaku are pretty bad as well.

@barbarossa213: Yes, both IGN and Kotaku are similarly "pay to play" sites

@barbarossa213: Try Russian YouTube channels. There are like... 4 doing flawless boss videos of many old school games and indie games like Bleed, Resin, Titan Souls, and more. Shadowresg I think one of them is called, and ArekTheAbsolute. I might have their names wrong, but if these are the correct names, you'll find an army of games worth to play.

I hope Valve cracks down on them for this. They might've stayed hidden among all the other trash before, but now they're waving a neon sign around saying "Look at us! We're a scam!"

@catsimboy: I am pretty sure the product is properly advertised. So it is not a scam. Well, I think it's not one... Umm...

And here I am thinking about what to create when I could just create a rock simulator and earn cash easily.

Damn! Who needs imagination in this day and age!? You could just create that sort of thing and any hipster will buy it because it's not "mainstream".

Jim Sterling has a playthough of sorts on his Youtube channel if you want to see it properly in action. It's buggy garbage.

Steam needs strict quality control. The reviews need another overhaul too - mostly positive? For this trash? The positive reviews aren't on the main page, since they're downvoted due to being stupid memes, but they still put this game at Mostly Positive.

Perhaps Steam should only factor in review "scores" (as in positive/negative) to the main rating if they have over 60% of people that found the review helpful (as in over 60% upvotes).

@mrdingha I think HUMAN beings should be paid to be quality control for every title released. Valve has the spare cash to pay 10 people or so. To just try and test games and pass games onto steam that goes through a quality control test. Not ai or bots.

@sellingthings: A grown man was spinning the crap out of one of these, right next to his ear (and too close to mine) during a movie. As in, pay money to sit in a theater, movie.

He no longer had a fidget spinner when he left.
