Fifth Star Wars Galaxies race revealed

Sony Online and LucasArts Entertainment have revealed the fifth playable race that will be featured in the first Star Wars Galaxies online role-playing game. The race is the mon calamari, an amphibious humanoid race with large eyes and a fishlike appearance. The race is known for its high intelligence, advanced technology, and peaceful nature. Due to their amphibious nature, members of the race can survive underwater for long periods of time and make long underwater journeys with little equipment. While the mon calamari race is often associated with the Rebel Alliance, mon calamari characters in the game will not be limited to the faction.

Star Wars Galaxies is currently in development at LucasArts and Verant Interactive, the studio that created the popular online role-playing game EverQuest.
