Final Fantasy 15's Product Placement Shown Off in New Images
Square Enix teams up with Coleman Company to bring branded tents, tables, chairs, and more to the upcoming RPG.

Square Enix and outdoor recreation company Coleman are teaming up for Final Fantasy XV.

As revealed by Gematsu, Final Fantasy XV will feature all manner of Coleman branded items, including tents, tables, chairs, and tableware.
Explaining the product placement, Square Enix said camping is a major component of Final Fantasy XV. Players will be able to, while camping, converse with other party members and cook meals that yield status buffs, among other things. Working together with Coleman helps boost the game's "fantasy based on reality" theme, the Japanese publisher said.
Product placement in video games is nothing new. Sports games like FIFA and NBA2K are stuffed with well-known brands, while Barack Obama even placed political ads in 18 different games as part of his 2008 presidential election campaign.
Square Enix has not yet announced a release date for Final Fantasy XV. However, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 owners who buy a copy of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD can play the game's demo.
