Final Fantasy 15's Carnival Event Has Begun, Here's Everything Its Update Includes

A limited-time event is officially underway in Final Fantasy XV, coinciding with the release of a new update.

From now through February 19, players can visit the Moogle Chocobo Carnival. As shown off in a recent trailer, you'll find various carnival games, chocobo racing events, and new quests and items here. Square Enix says this takes place separate from the main story; as a result, you don't need to worry about spoilers.

Regardless of how far you've progressed, you can access the carnival via the Special option in the main menu. You will need to have downloaded either the free or paid version of the Holiday Pack DLC released in December. You can still grab that if you haven't already done so. With it installed, you'll obtain the Carnival Passport item that provides entry.

Anyone who visits the carnival while it's available will receive the Choco-Mog t-shirt and the photo frames seen in the gallery above. Season pass owners with the premium version of the Holiday Pack DLC installed also receive the Festive Ensemble outfit for Noctis and additional photo frames. You can see those below.

A free new update for Final Fantasy XV also arrives today. This provides the previously announced ability to take your own photos outside of combat. These can be taken in first- or third-person, and frames and filters can be applied to these like they can Prompto's photos.
