Final Fantasy 7 Remake Gets New Art, But No Details

So we've got to wait 3-5 years for only part 1 of Final Fantasy VII remake which could possibly turn out like trash like Final Fantasy XV. Why is it that masterpieces like Nier Automata, Persona 5, Ni No Kuni, Ni No KUni 2, Tales of Berseria, Ni Oh, Bloodborne. The devs of these games can release full fledged master pieces in a fraction of the dev time and cost.

Not that I am looking out for it but I'll wait til the remake releases before I eventually play a FF game for the first time

If you keep wanting turn based. You need to support their turn-based titles. The sales figures are doing the talking. Otherwise stop complaining lol

I don't expect to see this game anytime before 2020. And that's the soonest. Knowing SE of today, you know they can't get a game out on a console until many years after it was announced

I have the original on PS4 and will probably start a new game tonight. This remake is going to be a micro transaction crap fast with terrible action based combat. I prefer turn based combat any day of the week over mindless button mashing like FF13 and 15.

I forgot FF7 remake was even a thing. Waited, so long that it's not even on my radar anymore. From what I'm reading i don't see it ever coming out, that's just my opinion.

Is it good to start final fantasy 15 or 7 if your new to the franchise and it's you fist time

This will be an interesting potential purchase for me 10 years from now when all three of the games are out.

Learned my lesson from Starcraft 2. Not buying each piece of this three years apart.

Hell, FFVII was massively overrated anyway. Give me FFIX or DQVIII over it anyday.

Lets see how SQE manages to burn them selves with what they do to FF7. the lil video of battles they did show dont give me hope.

All i want to FF7 remade with today graphics battle system/gameplay intact... if it has something similar to FF15 then SQE is dead to me as far as FF series goes, FF15 is first game in series I will not buy not after the disgust i felt after play the demo.

Never played this game despite having a PS1 back then. Don't know if I should play it or just wait for the remake

Played my first FF (which was FFX remaster) last year and it was definitely amazing. Few games had such emotional impact on me like that game and I could see why the franchise is/was so beloved. The combat of FFXV, however, did not convince me as it looks too shallow for a hack n' slash and I heard the story was a mess as well, so I decided to skip it. FFXII remaster does intrigue my interest as the RPG elements within the combat system look more fleshed out (and it has a nice Star Wars feel to it), so I'll get it instead. I've never played FFXIII and from all the things I've heard and read about it, I don't think I want to either.

Pretty underwhelming anniversary event.

Take one of the most popular JRPGs of all time, use the emo-esque art from Advent Children, remove all JRPG elements from the game in favour of a westernized game's mechanics, milk your fans by selling it in Episodes, probably fill the game with unnecessary missions and shoehorned in DLS or costume microtransactions or some garbage...

Then done. How to completely kill a game's legacy by square enix. A company who hasn't made a good JRPG since FFX

In other news - The FF7 remake will skip the Switch, but you will be able to get a re-re-release of the original FF7 on a game cartridge for the mere amount of $60 so you'll be able to play it even in the bathroom!
Square Enix spoke person said: "The game will run beautifully on the powerful Switch! The original FF7 never looked better!"
A release date wasn't announced beyond sometime in 2017.

No way i'm gonna buy it episodically, just gonna wait for the complete disc release, doesn't matter the wait.
