FF8 has been hinted by just about everyone in the gaming industry, like one of the worse kept secrets.

And 8 is a safe remake that has a ton of fans, worldwide. But how about taking a real risk and remaking or .. remaster something that takes a lot of balls. Xenogears.... This is one of the most epic games from that time, wildly cool and complex storyline with really interesting characters and even better bad guys. Hand to hand combat, mech to mech combat, mech to giant crazy shit combat. And possibly the 2nd coolest ass kicking butler written. Now that would be the game i would remake, it still boggles the mind that a small development team made this game over two years, and they regret not getting to put in a few more cg and fleshing out the last some parts of the game. Crazy.

I'm actually surprised that the article hasn't been edited by now. If there was a way to report it I would.

I was pretty critical of FF8 when it came out,- shallow dislike-able protagonist, forgettable antagonist, and a red herring or two. Only a couple characters that were even interesting or showed growth, layers. But years later i read a story gamefaq to use when playing the game. So i booted up my old psone 10 yrs after it came out and played the game all over again along with the story-gamefaq and it was much better this time around. Characters had a better light on them then i remembered and the story made alot more sense.

No complaints about the battles or production quality at all. I think I will play it again when its remastered for pc.

I've used this site since I created an account to comment on the Halo 3 announcement trailer and since then I've mostly lurked but I've watched this site go from being my number one review site to an absolute dumpster fire that auto plays ads, over reports on Fortnite and has shitty journalism.

I was hoping this would happen! Literally told my wife, wouldn't it be even more major if they announced FF8 in some form for current consoles? Then like 15 minutes later in their pressure conference.....

Me and my girlfriend fell in love with eachother while playing this game. Married today, and got two Kids. So a remake will be most welcome. Hell who knows, maybe we'll get more kids, hahaha.

The first 2 discs of FFVIII were incredible. After that, I had no idea what the **** was going on. Well, I'll try again, but this time it'll be all pretty like.

So what happened people say that squareenix lost the code for ff8 . Did really lost code or did squareenix found the code by one old computer?

Just a little reminder, Gamespot's reviewer gave it a 9.5, and it was back when people actually gave a shit about the reviews on the site.

There should be a complete remake of this, Final Fantasy 9 and the original Parasite Eve. Also an equivalent Remaster of Final Fantasy 9 compared to this on current gen consoles in the time being. FF 9 was my absolute favorite among the 3 main entries of the PS1 era because of its cartoon inspired graphics, storyline, and humor. The original cut-scenes for the time were also jaw dropping in late 2000. All of this was missing from the US version of the Playstation Classic despite how irrelevant that sounds by now.

my favourite ff game... nice to see it finally get its due. waiting for a ff7-9 remaster collection on disc, though... oh, and for the love of god, make the guardian force animation skipable for the ff 8 remaster! they took too bloody long!

Eh. Music was great, but not only was it my least favorite Final Fantasy games, but also one of the worst games I've played. Once was enough for me, thank you.

Final Fantasy 8 was awesome. You wanna know why?

Because I skipped FF7 and played this game first, followed by FF7, then FF9.

So, the author's bashing of FF8 strikes a dirty discord with me.

I'm hoping that this sells good enough to convince SE to remake this next!

Anyone who never played this back in the day should really give it a chance now, it's aged remarkably well for a PS1-era game.

Never did get to the end-game on this one. Probably been long enough where it's all fresh again.

The remaster video didn't exactly exude that holy-crap feel. Just less aliasing. Yet if it's not terribly priced, I'd rather play it on the big screen instead of Vita.

Now all we need is FF8 remake.
