Final Fantasy X sales meet expectations
Sales of Square's first PlayStation 2 Final Fantasy game reaches the 4 million mark.
Square has announced that sales of Final Fantasy X have reached the 4 million mark, meeting company expectations. According to Reuters, the company still expects to post a loss of $133 million for the fiscal year ending March 2002 due to costs associated with creating Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, and it will not adjust this projection to reflect the Final Fantasy X sales. Final Fantasy X is the first PlayStation 2 game to sell 4 million copies.
