The year is 2002. The world has become a post-apocalyptic urban wasteland. While society is being rebuilt, one young boy with rare telekinetic powers holds the key to future humanity. But standing in the way of a new utopia is an evil QueenLord. Her wicked plan is to use the boy's powers to dominate the world under her villainous rule. With only the BattleTanx at your command, you must conquer the evil QueenLord and save mankind from her sinister reign.

The 3DO Company announced Friday the sequel to its latest Nintendo 64 hit, BattleTanx. Titled BattleTanx II: Global Assault, the new battles take place in recognizable cities such as Washington, Paris, London and Berlin. These city environments are completely destructible - players can destroy and collapse buildings, streetlights, and assorted other objects. BattleTanx II: Global Assault features beautifully enhanced rendered pyrotechnics, such as incredibly real explosions, fire, and smoke effects with pieces raining down from destroyed buildings. Missile and shell projectiles will have smoke trails and particle explosions.

BattleTanx II: Global Assault will include up to four-player action, and should be arriving in stores for this holiday season.
