First look: Hitchcock
We take a brief look at Arxel Tribe's mystery adventure game Hitchcock: The Final Cut, which is based on the legendary movie director.
Arxel Tribe is developing an adventure game based on one of the most famous movie directors of all time. The game is titled Hitchcock: The Final Cut, and it is inspired by the work of Alfred Hitchcock. Players assume the role of Joseph Shamley, a private investigator with psychic powers. They must investigate the mysterious disappearance of one of Hitchcock's biggest fans, an amateur movie director who was last seen shooting a movie on his private estate. Using Shamley's psychic powers, players will uncover the secrets behind the mystery.
The game's settings, graphics, and cinematic sequences are designed in accordance with the rules of Hitchcock's movies. It features 15 minutes of footage from some of Hitchcock's most popular movies, including Psycho, Frenzy, Shadow of a Doubt, Saboteur, Topaz, and Torn Curtain, as well as more than 30 minutes of cinematic movie-style sequences. The game will include more than 20 hours of gameplay and more than 50 detailed 3D locations inhabited by numerous interactive characters.
We've posted screenshots in the gallery above that show off some of the characters and environments that players will encounter during the game. Hitchcock: The Final Cut is is scheduled for a European release in November by Wanadoo. No US publisher or release date has been announced.
