First Look: PS2 The Day of Walpurgis

TOKYO - In the face of companies such as Namco and Sony showing next to nothing new at TGS, Konami's corner of the trade event was a welcome surprise. Not only did the company allow gamers to get their hands on a variety of new RPG and music games, we also found many new titles on video. One of these was The Day of Walpurgis, a time-adventure game for the PlayStation2.

The Day of Walpurgis looks similar to Silent Hill and thematically appears to be some sort of thriller-adventure game, but it's really too early to tell exactly what the title is trying to be. The video that Konami had on display consisted mostly of real-time cutscenes, some of which looked pretty impressive. One in particular really impressed us - a fire burning inside of a room. It looked nice for real-time.

Hopefully more information on The Day of Walpurgis will surface in Japan now that Konami has unveiled the game at TGS. What little Konami showed on video left us aching to see more.
