First look: Rugrats: Royal Ransom
THQ releases gameplay information on its next Rugrats-inspired adventure game for the PS2 and GameCube. First screens inside.
THQ has released gameplay information pertaining to Rugrats: Royal Ransom, an adventure game for the PS2 and GameCube. The somewhat confusing plot of the game revolves around Stu Pickles' latest invention--the Play Palace 3000, or PP3K. As Tommy, Chuckie, Kimi, Phil, and Lil--who are the playable characters in the game--climb on the PP3K they find that the higher they get the further from their reach the palace gets. To make matters worse, Angelica has appointed herself queen of the PP3K and has relieved the intrepid adventurers of a number of treasured possessions.
Attempting to recover their treasures and reach the PP3K, players will take in nine different environments including snow, underwater, jungle, Arabia, big top, Western, Dino Land, moon, and medieval. In addition to exploring on foot, the children will be able to use vehicles such as a flying carpet, a submarine, a sled, and a moon buggy in certain levels.
The PS2 version of Rugrats: Royal Ransom is scheduled for release on November 10, while the GameCube version will follow on November 14. We'll bring you more information on the games as it becomes available.
