First look: TransWorld Snowboarding
We brought you a first glimpse of TransWorld Skateboarding a few days ago, and now we have the first screens from TransWorld Snowboarding on the Xbox.
Infogrames announced the development of TransWorld Snowboarding for the Microsoft Xbox prior to the E3 in Los Angeles, and now GameSpot has several new screenshots from the game. Developed by Finnish studio Housemarque, TransWorld Snowboarding is the followup to the company's other snowboarding game, Boarder Zone (or Supreme Snowboarding) on the PC. The game will offer 12 snowboarding pros including Tina Basich, Barrett Christy, Andrew Crawford, Kevin Jones, Peter Line, Jussi Oksanen, Todd Richards, Willie Yli-Luoma, and more. More than 20 locations will be available in the game, ranging from the US to Finland, Switzerland, Canada, Germany, France, Austria, Italy, and Japan. Game modes include Free-Ride, Free-Style, Slope Style, Straight Jump, Pipe, Boarder X, and career modes to satisfy your snowboarding-appetite. A four-player split-screen mode will also be included.
Players can perform tricks on downed trees, rails, tables, snowplows, ice blocks, and other objects on the tracks. The ultimate goal, as in TransWorld Skateboarding, is to make it on the cover page of famous TransWorld magazines. Graphically, the game will include effects such as advanced lighting, shadows, particle effects, bump mapping, and antialiasing.
The game is currently scheduled for an early 2002 release.
