Uncharted Movie Trailer Revealed, Watch Tom Holland As Drake In Action Here

The trailer looks good. Shame it’s not Nathan Fillion, but that doesn’t seem to be killing it for me. Holland seems a little too young, but I’m not going to worry about that. Probably done to appeal to a younger audience, which is fair enough.

Things have not been the same since they made no further new Uncharted games. Same goes for the Tomb Raider series too. This is the only thing I have against the PS5. The machine’s being used simply as an excuse to re-issue the same games over and over again. So much for backwards compatibility. I want new, really good, games to play, not rehashes of rehashes. In short new UC and TR please.

That short video Nathan Fillion did a while back looks more like Uncharted than this movie. I at least hope they made room for a Nolan North cameo in this movie somewhere. He'll always be the true Nathan Drake.

I feel as if I've seen this movie before, only it was called Tomb Raider then.

If you watch it while holding a controller, it's just like playing the game.

I thought the casting was suspect, but I get it now. Wahlberg is a good Sully, and it's pretty obvious that Sony is banking on the youth factor for future movies. I am disappointed they couldn't find room for Elena though. Kind of hard to have an Uncharted story without her.

Looks like it could be entertaining. Nice hat tip recreating the cargo plane scene from UC3.

I like Tom Holland, but I'm having a hard time getting past boyish Peter Parker looks. It appears this may be a bit of an origin story with a younger Nathan Drake before he became the seasoned adventurer he already was when he was first introduced to us. Still, I was just picturing someone a bit more rugged looking. Kind of a Gerard Butler type (although at this point he may be too old).

So we'll hope for the best. Since we're not getting anymore UC games, this is all we've got.

There's a reason this has taken 10 years with a lot of turnover. I don't think it's a good idea or necessary for a series that is already so cinematic.

Eh, we'll see. It doesn't really give you that "OMG it's just like the video game vibe". I didn't know until reading the comments that it was Marky Mark as Sully LOL. And I agree that while Holland looks kinda like Drake, he always seems way, way too young.

I would've been more excited to see it feel like the game. Other than the climbing of the falling crates from the airplane, it seemed to generic.

Here's scenes that would've gotten me more excited about it:

- Seeing him and Sully climbing walls of big ancient buildings

- Maybe a clip of him crouching and finding a crate with a new weapon in it

- A more video-game-drawn-like color pallet that would look like how a video game might 10 years from now.

... and of course, puzzles. Show lots of puzzles and humor trying to figure it out. Levers, jumping, switching, etc. I'm sure there are probably lots of Uncharted inside jokes that could be tossed in.

As is, unless reviews come across as amazing, I'll assume it'll just be a generic action movie that quickly gets forgotten.

SO. I'm going to watch this movie. Regardless. I love uncharted and I will watch it, even if it is to talk sh*t about it after.

Now that we got that out of the way....

Looks like another cash grab. Another generic video game movie.

- Mark Whalberg looks and sounds nothing like Sully.

- Tom Holland would serve to play the flashbacks of Drake's childhood at best.

- And the cliche ends with the Spaniard treasure hunter that has more money than Jeff Bezos, but somehow gets bamboozled by 2 dudes in a single motor plane.

On the other hand, Looks like they're putting some money into it because it looks visually stunning.

We'll see. I need to find my predictions of what this movie was about so that I can copy and paste in the review.

Looks pretty average, honestly.

This is one of those movies like Assassin's Creed I'll watch one weekend when it's on HBO. Can't imagine actually paying to see it, though.

Happy to see it doesn't look bad. I like that they actually included many different parts of the various games (characters, situations, phrases). I recognize them easily as I've beaten all the games multiple times. So yeah I'll support it when it hits theaters.

I think it looks pretty good, video game adaptations seem to more decent now (Sonic, Pokémon, Tombraider, Rampage) still not top of the line, but fine action movies. The cast seems promising.

Holland will make a great Drake. Wahlberg as Sully though?

Looks pretty good. I had no idea Antonio Banderas joined the cast. I'm looking forward to this one.

Y'know... it doesn't look half bad.

They seem to be keeping things very generic which for something like this may actually prove to be a positive.

I can already tell it won't be anything special but it doesn't look like people will walk away saying it's a terrible movie. It looks like a regular summer popcorn action flick.

Perhaps by keeping it very basic it will draw in more of a crowd. I can see Uncharted fans walking away thinking it's "alright" and people who know nothing of the franchise walking away thinking its "alright".

Guess we will see come February.

Not only Tom Holland is too damn skinny and short but his characterization is nothing like Nathan Drake....Drake is known to be a charismatic / wise-ass action junkie.

Well Bruce Campbell isn't Sulley so...

well I certainly hope the movie is better than the games. Especially UC4. That was average at best.
