Microsoft has today announced the North American release of Flight Simulator 2004: A Century of Flight. The game celebrates the first 100 years of powered flight through the inclusion of historic aircraft such as the 1903 Wright Flyer, but it also features a number of modern aircraft and helicopters. Each of the aircraft in the game includes its own interactive 3D virtual cockpit, and some 24,000 authentic airports from all over the world are available for players to fly between.

"A Century of Flight allows pilots of all ages to take the controls of aircraft that most would otherwise never be able to fly," said Bruce Williams, business development manager for Microsoft Flight Simulator. "Without leaving the ground, virtual aviators everywhere can experience what it was like to be one of the pioneers of flight. They also can fly a variety of contemporary aircraft in the most realistic skies available on the PC."

Flight Simulator 2004: A Century of Flight is available in stores across North America now for an estimated retail price of $54.95. For more information, check out our full review of the game.
