Former Stadia Exclusive Gylt, Lost To The Platform's Shutdown, Will Return In July
The game has found new homes.
Tequila Works announced that Gylt--a former Google Stadia exclusive that has been rendered unplayable since the streaming service's shutdown--will release for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S on July 6.
Billed as a "haunting single-player puzzle adventure game," Gylt follows a young girl named Sally who is on a journey to find her missing cousin, Emily. She crashes her bike and ends up in a twisted version of her town, Bethelwood, Maine, where her fears and worst memories appear in wicked ways.
Gylt was first released in November 2019 as a Google Stadia exclusive. After Google announced that the game streaming platform would shut down, Tequila Works revealed that it would bring Gylt to other platforms in 2023. Now, the release date and platforms have been confirmed.
Unfortunately, other former Stadia exclusives were not as lucky as Gylt in being able to find new platforms after the platform's closure. Back in September 2022, Q-Games attempted to reach out to new publishers to bring PixelJunk Raiders to additional platforms, and Splash Damage confirmed that it had no plans to port Outcasters elsewhere.
Gylt was showcased on GameSpot Live back when it was released in 2019. Be sure to check out its creepy and melancholic world in the video below.
