Formula 1 '97 Becomes Timeless

Psygnosis will change the name of its upcoming racing title Formula 1 '97 to Formula 1: Championship Edition.

A source at the company revealed that because of the common trend of competitor companies to brand this year's product with next year's date "to protect shelf life into the new year," Psygnosis has instead opted to circumvent the act of branding its game with any kind of date at all.

Although the September-bound game uses 1997 statistics, Psygnosis promises "...an entirely new title with substantial enhancements across the board."
