Fortnite Players Can Fly With The Star Wars X-Wing Now
The glider was added as part of a promotion for Star Wars: Squadrons.
Fortnite players can now soar through the skies with the iconic X-Wing starfighter from Star Wars. The ship was added to the battle royale as a glider to help promote EA's new space dogfighting game: Star Wars: Squadrons.
The glider is available in the Fortnite item shop for 1,200 V-Bucks or around $10 USD. There's no way to only purchase 1,200 V-Bucks so you'll have to purchase more of Epic's virtual currency than you need, or you'll have to unlock V-Bucks by leveling up your Fortnite battle pass. Players who buy Star Wars: Squadrons on the Epic Game Store will get the glider for free.

This isn't the first time Star Wars has come to Fortnite. J.J. Abrams premiered a trailer for The Rise of Skywalker within the game. A crossover also brought Rey, Finn, Kylo Renn, and other characters to the game. This glider is one of the many crossovers Fortnite has had during its new season--Stark Industries just became a new location on the map.
Star Wars items that have come to Fortnite before have typically only been available for a limited time.
Very soon, you'll potentially be able to enjoy an even better-looking version of the new glider and the game in general, as Fortnite is adding ray tracing and other RTX features on September 17. This includes support for DLSS 2.0, allowing the game to render at a lower resolution and then be upscaled, helping to ensure a solid frame rate even when maxing use of graphical features like ray tracing. You'll just need to ensure you have supported hardware, which of course includes the upcoming RTX 3070, 3080, and 3090.
Star Wars: Squadrons, on the other hand, is due out on October 2 and recently got a new CG trailer, exploring some of the characters featured in its single-player campaign. As of now, it hasn't bee confirmed to have a next-generation release. However, we wouldn't be surprised if it came to both Xbox Series X/S and PS5.
