Fortnite's Summer Splash Brings Lots Of New Skins And LTMs To The Game
Epic will introduce a ton of new and returning summer-themed skins and modes to the hit battle royale shooter throughout Season 3.
Season 3 of Fortnite: Chapter 2 may have only recently begun, but a lot has already changed in the hit battle royale game. Tying into the new season's water theme, developer Epic has announced the Fortnite Summer Splash, which will bring a slew of new and returning modes, skins, and more over the next few weeks.
From now until the end of Season 3, Epic will be bringing back "refreshed classic" limited-time modes to the game, such as Fog of War (formerly known as Sneaky Silencers), Close Encounters, and Unvaulted. Epic says these LTMs will all get "some Summer Splash refreshment with some new features."
In addition to the returning LTMs, Epic will also introduce new modes throughout the season. On top of a "new take" on Operation: Knockout, the studio teases "a reel 'em in royale" and a "game of elimination-powered upgrades."

Beyond that, Epic will also add new, summer-themed skins and other items to the game. The Summer Drift and Beach Bomber skins will return as well. You can read more details about the Fortnite Summer Splash on Epic's official website.
Season 3 of Fortnite is currently slated to end August 26, although that date could very well change. Both Season 1 and Season 2 were extended by several weeks as Epic continued to roll out new in-game events and challenges, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see Season 3 get extended as well.
Although we're still fairly early into Season 3, there are already a handful of challenges to complete. You can find all of our maps and guides for the trickier ones in our Fortnite Season 3 challenges roundup. You can also see some of the new Battle Pass skins you can unlock and everything new in Season 3 here.
In other news, Epic announced Fortnite's Save the World mode is officially leaving Early Access. However, unlike Battle Royale mode, Save the World will not be free to play. The studio went on to say, "Development of new content will slow down after this official release, but the adventure doesn't end here for Save the World."
