Microsoft and developer Turn 10 Studios on Thursday announced the latest free expansion pack for Xbox racing game Forza Horizon 2. On March 17, the developer will release the Mazda MX-5 Car Pack, which includes that vehicle (making its digital debut) as well as three other cars.
The four news cars are printed below. For a closer look, check out the video above the images in the gallery at the bottom of this post.
- 1990 Mazda MX-5 Miata
- 2005 Mazda Mazdaspeed MX-5
- 2010 Mazda MX-5 Super20 concept car
- 2016 Mazda MX-5
The Mazda MX-5 Car Pack will be available only on Xbox One, as the Xbox 360 edition of the game is not supported with new content. The expansion is free.
In addition, starting March 17, Microsoft will launch a new Rivals contest in Horizon 2 on Xbox One. The contest ends April 30, challenging players to complete a race in as fast a time as possible. Do that and you'll advance to the next stage of a tournament, with the winner taking home a new Mazda MX-5, which has an estimated retail value of $30,000. Full contest rules are available here.
People attending this weekend's SXSW Gaming Expo in Austin, Texas can play the Madza MX-5 Car Pack expansion at the Madza booth on the show floor.
Later this month, Microsoft and Turn 10 will release a free Forza Horizon 2 standalone game themed around movie franchise Fast & Furious.
