There's good news and not-to-good news about the free PlayStation Plus version of Driveclub.

First the good news: the free version of the PlayStation 4 racing game, while delayed indefinitely, remains in the works. It has not been canceled.

The not-so-good news? It's probably not going to be released anytime soon. Developer Evolution Studios says "we're getting there," but cautions that the company still has a lot of work to do in terms of server development to accommodate the free PS Plus edition.

After several delays, Driveclub launched in October and immediately faced widespread and crippling server issues that made the game unplayable for some. In light of these struggles, which have now been largely corrected, Evolution delayed the game's free PlayStation Plus version indefinitely.
