From Software details next-gen games

Tenchu 360 to feature original ninja-making mode; first details on Armored Core 4 also revealed.

During the Tokyo Game Show 2005, From Software revealed that it is currently developing two titles: Tenchu 360 for the Xbox 360, and Armored Core 4, which will be released on the Xbox 360 in summer 2006, and on the PlayStation 3 at an unannounced date. The company showed a brief trailer of both games during TGS, but gave no specific information. However, first details on the game have now been revealed, courtesy of the latest issue of Famitsu.

Tenchu 360 will have a new feature where gamers can create and customize their own ninjas. The player starts with a low-level ninja, which they need to build up and make stronger. The player's original assassins can also pick up various skills and moves throughout the game. The trailer for Tenchu 360 hinted that there's "60 million variables"--probably taking into account the total number of customizable arrangements of skills, equipment, and body parts in creating an original ninja. Tenchu 360 also features online support. Players can use their original ninjas and they can play in a co-op mode on Xbox Live.

Produced by Eiichi Nakajima and directed by Naotoshi Zin, Armored Core 4 will feature the series' trademark customization system, where players can create their original mech by switching components such as the head, arms, and legs of the mech's body. The game will feature a few hundred components for customization, and players can also change each component's colors to give it a new look. By taking on missions and earning bonuses, the player can purchase even more powerful parts to make their mech stronger.

Both Tenchu 360 and Armored Core 4 are currently still in the early stages of development and were not playable at the Tokyo Game Show. Famitsu reports development of both titles to be 10 percent complete.

Armored Core 4 will be the best game to ever reach XBOX 360 this year. Just hoping the wait won't be forever. The graphics are bound to blow us away, judging by the great jobs done on Gears of War and Dead Rising.

Definitely cannot wait for Armored Core 4, and speaking of Tenchu, the demo was OK, was kinda like playing the last Tenchu on a Xbox 1.25. Also, how are both games 10% complete when Tenchu is launching in Japan in October??? Someone at Gamespot got their info screwed up.

Tenchu is traditionally a PS game so it should be on the PS3. I like the whole Japanese ninja & demon thing but they really do need to desperately improve the whole graphic and camera issues.

I hope Tenchu comes to the PS3! I do not see why it would not.
