Games With Gold: Last Chance For These Free Xbox One Games For October 2019

Here are your October freebies.

October has almost passed us by, which means the free games for Xbox Live Gold members will switch soon. October's Games With Gold freebies include, as usual, two Xbox One and two Xbox 360 games. You need to hurry if you want to claim them, as November's free games are about to take center stage.

First up is Tembo the Badass Elephant, a 2015 2D side-scrolling platformer released on Xbox One. You'll control an elephant called Tembo, who can smash into objects, stomp on enemies and tanks, use water in his trunk to put out fires, and more as he makes his way through Shell City, intent on stopping a military force called the Phantom. Tembo the Badass Elephant will be free all month long.

Now Playing: Free Xbox One And Xbox 360 Games With Gold For October 2019 Revealed

As of October 16, you can also claim Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge, an action-adventure Xbox 360 game starring Ryu Hayabusa, the master ninja from the previous Ninja Gaiden games. An upgraded rerelease of Ninja Gaiden 3, Razor's Edge introduces a host of new playable characters, who each bring their own unique ninja abilities. This game is also available on Xbox One due to backward-compatibility, and it'll be free until October 31.

Friday the 13th: The Game is the fourth and final free game available for Xbox Live Gold members this month. This third-person survival horror game allows for up to eight people to play in one session, with seven people controlling camp counselors and another person controlling serial killer Jason Voorhees. Friday the 13th: The Game is available for free on Xbox One for a full month, from October 16 to November 15.

@doomsdayhell01: Yeah, I never heard of that game but will check it out as well Bolt which I did hear of but never bothered to get but since I am an member I will see what that is about too. I will definitely DL Friday the 13th and Ninja Gaiden.

Games with Gold has been a bit average for the most part this year. Although I have gamepass which is excellent, so not too concerned.

@mrdinghat: I agree it is not free to keep if you unsubscribe but you can use the system as an way to play the games as an demo and Game Pass the same as you get to play the full game and if you buy it you get an discount. So All in all it can be an win depending on how you look at it. Heck I am enjoying Gears 5 right now.

Ahhh why ahhh those games are terrible but not as bad as destiny.

But the best game on Xbox live is 2025 EDF, it's got over 100 levels the entire stages are authentic Tokyo and Osaka style, and all can be destroyed and you can drive a tank, chopper mech machine, bike, fly, the guns are crazy and the creatures are bonkers and yes it has the best chat integration I have ever seen beats most mmo's and it has local offline coop death match freaking brilliant.

@skyhighgam3r: Then buy it! Are you seriously waiting for that to become GWG. You can get it for less than a fiver. Razer's Edge is more logical as even for an older game its still slightly pricier in a lot of places

@ryuburger: I own Ninja Gaiden on XBOX - it's not Backwards Compatible, which was my point.
I didn't say there was any problem with using Ninja Gaiden 3 - Razor's Edge for GWG either. I said the other 3 were lame.

@kgsg-19-2: I am into Game Pass now because you get to play some games that just released. Some months they are skimpy and some days they hit the spot. GWG is for games of past and Game Pass is for Games that are current. Sony, EA and some others are following MS game model.

Nice. I never got around to getting Ninja Gaiden 3 so it’s cool that I’ll get the chance to play it next month. I know it wasn’t well received but it’s still something that I’d like to try for myself and there’s no better way then as a Games with Gold offering.
