Gears of War 4 PC Minimum Specs, New 4K Gameplay Video Revealed

System spec requirements for Gears of War 4 confirmed.

With Gamescom underway in Germany, Microsoft today announced the minimum and recommended specs for Gears of War 4's PC version, along with 4K gameplay footage from it.

Microsoft actually offers three tiers of specs for the game--minimum, recommended, and ideal. No matter what, you'll need to be running Windows 10's anniversary update to play, and you'll also need a whopping 80 GB of hard drive space to install it.

At the low end, you'll need only a GTX 750 Ti or R7 260X. The ideal specs call for a GTX 970 Ti, a brand-new GTX 1080, or R9 Fury X, as well as a solid state drive--which is no small ask when you're talking about committing 80 GB to a single game.

Alongside this, Microsoft released a debut gameplay clip of Gears of War 4 running at 4K. The PC version of the game supports resolutions at 4K; you can watch it above and see it in 4K on YouTube. The description notes the footage was captured on a PC equipped with a GTX 1080.

Gears of War 4 launches for Xbox One and PC on October 11, although those who buy the Ultimate Edition can start playing on October 7. As an Xbox Play Anywhere game, you can buy a digital copy on either platform to receive access on both.
