The PC version of Gears of War 4 is now available to pre-load, Microsoft has announced.

In a forum post, developer The Coalition also "strongly encouraged" people to download the newest Windows update--KB3194496--as this fixes a problem that could cause the download to restart. As announced previously, Gears of War 4 also requires the Windows 10 Anniversary update.

To pre-load Gears of War 4 for PC on Windows 10, you will of course need to pre-buy the game. After that, you can click "Install" to start your download. The Coalition noted that Gears of War 4 will automatically download in the background in some cases, but this will be slower.

As stated, you'll also need to be running Windows 10's anniversary update to play Gears of War 4, and you'll also need a whopping 80 GB of hard drive space to install it. You can see Gears of War 4's complete minimum, recommended, and ideal PC specs here.

Gears of War 4's Xbox One version became available to pre-load earlier this week.

In other news about Gears of War, Microsoft today announced two new Xbox One bundles themed around the game, including 500 GB and 1 TB versions.

Gears 4 launches on October 11 for Xbox One and PC, though people who buy the $100 Ultimate Edition or the $450 2 TB console bundle can play starting on October 7. It's an Xbox Play Anywhere game, meaning that if you buy a digital copy, you get access on both Xbox One and PC.
