The company is currently working with AMD to address problems players with AMD's Radeon hardware are having. GameSpot understands these fixes will be available very soon.
For those that have a G-sync monitor, they may encounter issues with frame rate. These can be alleviated by going into the settings menu within the game and unlocking the frame rate. Alternatively, G-Sync can be disabled through the Nvidia control panel.
Players using a laptop, meanwhile, will need to set their main GPU as the preferred one, as some devices will switch to the discrete GPU to save power, which results in a message saying the harware is not supported by the game. An update that resolves this is in the works.
Additionally, some users are having problems with downloading the game from the Windows App Store. Some may find that the download is not progressing, but Microsoft has said it is download in the background and will complete. A 10GB download prompt may also appear, and this is required to play the game.
Gears of War Ultimate Edition is available now on PC for $29.99 in North America and £22.79 in the UK. GameSpot's Gears of War Ultimate Edition review has been updated to include the PC version and now reflects the issues highlighted above.
"More than half a year after its Xbox One release, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition has come to PC for Windows 10," it reads. "And although the game's core is intact, complete with controls and level design that raised the bar for third-person shooters in 2006, the technical issues are far more pervasive on PC: we played on two different rigs, and both exhibited their own disparate problems."
