HBO's The Last of Us returns on April 13 for its second season. Season 1 aired more than two years ago, so if you're looking for a refresher, HBO has now released a nice recap video.

The Season 1 recap video runs through all the major events in about five minutes, so it's not an exhaustive or comprehensive look back, but it has all the main bits you need to know and remember. Obviously, the video is full of spoilers--check it out below.

Season 2 debuts Sunday, April 13 on HBO and Max. There are seven episodes in all, compared to nine for Season 1. In other news, The Last of Us Season 1's limited-edition Steelbook version launched this week with a nice discount.

Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey return to play Joel and Ellie, respectively, while Season 2 adds Kaitlyn Dever as Abby and Young Mazino as Jesse. The Sopranos and The Matrix star Joe Pantoliano joins the cast in Season 2 as Eugene, a character mentioned in The Last of Us: Part II, but never seen.

Season 2 picks up five years after Season 1 and tells some of the story of The Last of Us: Part II, but not the whole thing. To tell the game's entire story, HBO has said it needs more than one season, which strongly suggests Season 3 is also coming. The show could end after Season 4.

As for the game series, The Last of Us: Part II Remastered comes to PC on April 3, but it remains to be seen if Naughty Dog will make The Last of Us: Part III. What is confirmed is that Naughty Dog is developing a new IP called Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet for PS5.
