Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime oozes out March 23
Atari's downloadable series entry lands on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live in two months; PC release unannounced.
In early December, Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime, the first downloadable entry in the ghoul-corralling series, was outed. It was pegged for a vague spring 2011 release window at the time, but now Atari has announced a firm release date for the game.
According to a tweet from the official Atari Twitter feed, Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime will ship for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on March 23. The publisher did not announce a release date for the PC iteration of the title. However, the publisher did note that the PC version will be available online via Atari.com when it is released.
The top-down game set in New York City will be a cooperative adventure title playable online or offline with up to four players. It will drop players into the boots of the Ghostbuster team's newest recruit and task them with working cooperatively to take down "gigantic bosses." Also, gamers will have a range of weaponry at their disposal including the proton stream, plasma inductor, and the fermion shock.
The title is currently in development at Behavior Studios, a downloadable developer best known for the Assault Heroes and 3D Ultra MiniGolf Adventures franchises.
