Go Play Fallout 4, Bethesda Says in Thank You Note to Fans
"We can't wait to hear about your adventures."
The day has arrived. After four years of development, Bethesda's long-awaited and much-anticipated role-playing game, Fallout 4, launches today, November 10. Now, developer Bethesda Game Studios has released a note to fans, thanking them for their support and patience, and encouraging them to dive deep into post-apocalyptic Boston and discover everything it has to offer. Via Facebook, the full note is below.
Bethesda has also shared an image of the Fallout 4 development team, including game director Todd Howard, as well as the real-world inspiration for Dogmeat and a Vault Boy statue.
In the first few hours following Fallout 4's launch, it amassed more than 335,000 concurrent players on Steam, surpassing the record for a Bethesda game set by The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
Just because Fallout 4 is now out the door, that doesn't mean Bethesda is packing up and moving on to its next game just yet. The developer is now working on the game's paid expansion packs and free updates. In addition, Bethesda will release PC mod tools in 2016 and has plans to make these mods available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 sometime further down the road.
GameSpot's Fallout 4 review scored the game a 9/10, while other reviewers also spoke positively about it.
