God of War Revealed for PS4 at E3 2016

Well I was never a huge fan of the old games. Too button mashy for my taste. I think this is an interesting change. Hopefully they can keep the combat good.

Hyped for this! I've always enjoyed God Of War games.

Graphics look awesome, but it didn't feel like God of War. It felt more like Tomb raider/Last of Us/Dark souls hybrid.

Please give the kid a new name. Charlie is so...plain. Even Capcom had to change their Charlie to Nash lol

Is he aged or, is this just how he looks due to the better graphics?

@Metallicwolf29: I'm pretty sure that's exactly what they're doing. Notice this is called God of War, not God of War 4. Notice that this guy looks nothing like Kraotos, he's using an axe, and he's in Norse mythology instead of Greek mythology. Everything points to a series reboot with a totally different story and new characters. ;) I'd agree with you otherwise, but it seems you're complaining about them doing what you wanted them to do.

@Metallicwolf29: It kinda looks like they're doing exactly that. And if the series is dead, why not use the name and likenesses that have some nostalgia attached to them. Plus, this actually does look like there's some God of War style in it. Kinda like RE4 compared to the earlier Resident Evil series.

I love the series but I'm very skeptical about the new camera. Peter Brown thinks this is a way to "modernize" the older games, to make the action more close. I respectfully disagree; this change alone will probably change the game design into another action game like Dark Souls/ Lords of The Fallen instead of hack 'n slash.

As somebody who had zero interest in playing another God of War game after III, that demo actually looked pretty cool. They took a series that used to be a big deal, but totally did not need another game of the same kind in it, and did something very different but still recognizable with it. I hope it ends up good.

Hope you don't have to babysit the kid throughout the entire game. Maybe you can leave him with Mom while you fly solo slaying baddies and then return later for pastries and tea

God of the Last of Us is the vibe I got from it.

Um, I didn't hear anything in that video indicating his son's name is 'Charlie'. Given the setting it sounds ridiculous. We don't even know if the main character actually is Kratos either. It's a whole new era and setting, not Greek mythology.
