Golden Land announced
Russobit-M and Burut Software unveil their upcoming fantasy role-playing game.
Russian game publisher Russobit-M has announced Golden Land, its upcoming fantasy role-playing game in development at Burut Software. The isometric game will feature an expansive gameworld, turn-based combat, and an advanced role-playing system with a wide range of branching quests. It uses Burut's proprietary AGE game engine, and it will include a cooperative multiplayer mode.
The game is set in a fantasy world known as Zlatogor'ja, which is made up of more than 200 unique locations ranging from the deserts of Marvii to the snow-covered plains of Al'berii. The land is split into three large countries, each with distinct culture. Players will assume the role of a novice in the Temple of True Heroes. They are sent on a quest by the main priest of the temple to uncover the secrets behind a series of mysterious events that have plagued Zlatogor'ja. On their journey, players will encounter more than 400 different characters, as well as a wide variety of weapons, armor, and equipment. Burut expects the final game to include more than 150 hours of gameplay.
Golden Land is scheduled for release in fall 2002, and Burut plans to release a playable demo of the game sometime before the retail release. No North American publisher or release date for the game has been announced.
