Pre-Order Google Stadia Founder's Edition: Price, Games, And More
Cloudy with a chance of gaming.
The Stadia game streaming service is nearly upon us, as Google announced during a pre-E3 2019 presentation. Early adopters will be able to start gaming on the go in November 2019 with the Founder's Edition, which is available for pre-order right now, directly from Google. Everyone else will have to wait until the Base version launches in 2020.
Ahead of Gamescom 2019, Google showed off even more of the games that will be available on Stadia. Those include the highly anticipated Cyberpunk 2077 from CD Projekt Red, the team behind The Witcher series. Watch Dogs Legion, which was announced at E3, will also be on the platform. Stadia will host a wide range of games, including Marvel's Avengers, Superhot, Baldur's Gate 3, Doom Eternal, and more--see the full list of confirmed games that will be on Stadia.
When the full service launches in 2020, people will be able to buy a Stadia controller (for $69) and then purchase games a la carte to stream from anywhere without any additional fees. For full access to Stadia, however, including streaming at 4K, access to an extensive library of games, and discounts on purchasing them, players will need to pay $10 per month for a Stadia Pro subscription.
For now, however, the only option available is through the Founder's Edition, which includes both the controller and three-month Pro subscriptions for both you and a friend.
