GT use to be the best racing game on the market in my opinion it is now the forza series, still will get GT 5 though, I have had every game in this series.

GT5 Prologue is a great game and the full version is hopefully going to be worth the wait and then some. I don't need damage in the game if thats all that will be missing. If i want damage I will play NFS. I just hope they tone down penalties and increase the amount of tuning you can do to cars. I hope Lambo's and 911's are added.

GT5 will be great I can surely hope so! and now its the waiting game, I'm not really into cars and racing, but this game like the rest have always rocked! cant wait!

lol @ Tor Thorsen - you heard it here first. Burnout has realistic damage modeling. Did Fox News Network buy out Gamespot recently?

I hope the full game is good. I'm sure i prefer Forza more. I feel GT has been left behind and sony is banking on past reputation to sell the game. Forget modelling 700+ cars that no one will use. hurry up and release hte game already before my thumbs fall off because of too much fiddling.

This is a ps3 game and people are talking about xbox360 and of all things the wii.

yeah, I'm so jealous of the 360. I want to be able to pay extra money on top of what I already pay for online, plus even though I already have a system for FPSs (my PC), i really want the 360 just so I can get my hands on 'must own' titles that are already available for my PC. Oh yeah, and I really am envious of not being able to unlock achievements because without those, my life is meaningless /wrist

Can't wait to see what becomes of this game, I remember playing the first few with friends and never being able to put the game down...... it was probably the first game that made me open my eyes and enjoy the racing simulation type and probably Racing games all together, since then Racing games are one of my favorite genres to play.

This is obviously a sign of this to come. This just gives Sony permission to sell "prologue" games. Just call it what it is, an expensive demo that should've been avalible on the Playstation Network for free or half the price.

Congrats Sony on your abilty to sell half a game and make more money once the full game comes out.

My 360 is going to be SOOOO jealous. ------Just like your PS3 must of been Jealous that XB360 was out a year before hand and developers were still able to produce better graphics on a system 1 year older and cheaper. And before you tell me the PS3 is better graphically, read up and find out the facts, because its not. They are a both a horse a piece. Bandwidth is better on the 360.

Interesting. "...Thanks in large part to this latest entry..." and yet there's no mention of how many copies the prologue sold. Well, I guess we all know that it sold too many, but I'm still curious how many GT fans there are with more money than common sense. Biggest news here, though, is that Burnout has realistic damage. You learn something every day, I guess.

I'm a huge fan of the series, I much prefer GT games to similar games such as Forza or PGR. As to previous comments about Mario Kart and Burnout, they are very different games as SMBIUS mentioned so you can't really compare them. I'm looking forward to the new game the prologue is amazing, both visually and gameplay wise. What are the chances that either GT5 comes out on time this year? or GT Mobile comes out this year? Both of them are highly unlikely, I would expect GT Mobile to come out after GT5 which will be delayed, im 100% sure about that!

Why are people comparing Mario Kart, Burnout, and the GT series at the same level? These are VERY different racing games. Some like arcade-like driving while others like simulation. If you want to compare race sims, use GT, Forza, and GTR as your basis for argument.

Prologue didn't do much for me due to it's limited content, but it definitely gives me a great idea of what to expect from the full version, and I can't wait! It will most likely be the premiere racing title for years to come. Grid should tide me over nicely in the meantime though.

It's funny that the thing people complain about most is the fact that the cars don't get damaged when you slam into a wall. If that's the games biggest criticism, then I think the series is doing frackin' great. I played GT3 (the game I got when I bought my PS2) about a month ago and I was surprised at how well the game has stood the test of time. I also used to have a lot of fun with GT2. I'll eventually get GT5 when I get my PS3. The series is certainly consistent in providing a realistic driving sim that's fun to play.

I love mario kart for wii as much as the next guy. But just playing prologue makes me salivate at the full versions potential. It will be the best racing game( or most realistic) for years. We'll see

Kenji...Mario Kart is for everyone! Not just kids. There are very few games with better multiplayer action. Its not a single player game at all. Its simple fun, its shame you can't appriciate it.

I'd say the most realistic is GTR2 with GT5 being a very close second. In terms of graphics the GT wins hands down. Also, in response to Kenji's comment on M$ paying off developers. If paying good money to good developers brings in good games then how's this any different from what other companies are doing?

Wow Kenji, anti 360 fanboy much? So it took a week to get numbers...cause theres a lot of em. Microsoft wouldn't pay to delay number results. Cause the results are the same, it serves them no purpose. (And BTW I don't own a 360 or do I plan to...) freudanian: I can argue with that cash...just cause I don't have it and I'm quite jealous.

Only the greatest of great game series sell in these numbers. Just imagine the revenue.... £2000000000 gross maybe? You can't argue with that kind of cash!

Kenji, do u mean to say MS have paid company's to make games for them? .... Wow, a real eye opener there. Nice sales figure for GT ^^ its always been the king of racing sims though so hardly surprising its only getting stronger :)

I'm not surprised that it has reached 50 million copies sold as they have 6 games released since 1998 and the game has been popular in all 3 regions. The only other racing series to have that many titles is Mart Kart, which may or may not have sold more copies if you include the Gameboy and DS. The king of the franchises is obviously Mario, which has probably sold well over 500 million copies in it series of games. I'm waiting for the full version of GT5 to be released. I've gotten feedback from trusted friends on GT5 P and they are all telling me it's better then GT3 & 4. So I'll definitely get GT5 full version when it's released. Forza and PGR are still my favorites wtih Burnout not far behind. I do have all the GT games, but really only played 1-3 consistantly. GT4 wasn't much different from GT3 A-Spec. I'm hoping that GT5 is way different from the previous versions besides the graphics. Time will tell.

THis demo sold more than 2.0million copies according to IGN. I don't think it's a bad record huh? Another sign to show how biased GS is against ps3.

For a game what is a beta 8.0 is a bloody great score;) I have both GT and Forza and IMO GT just pips it to the winning post

I bought GT5 Prologue on release day and I love it....Getting slightly old but I still marvel at it. I also played the Grid demo and I can only say I was dissapointed, the car physics just felt.....wrong.

My favourite bit of watching my friend play Prologue online, was when he drove his car through the other online opponents cars. Realistic. :thup:

Have you seen Grid?, i played the demo on 360 and it was stunning with full crash physics that LOOK REAL, its also coming to PS3 but im not sure if theres a Demo on PSN yet,. To 360 Fanboys ! Theres no point in coming to the GT site and saying to PS3 owners Forza2 is better, they cant play it anyway so its pointless to try and convince them, there never going to like it because its on Xbox only, being an exclusive game causes the fanboys who haven't got the game on their system to hate it, Started with Halo3, weired cos this never happened before in console wars, only one i can think of is sonic vs Mario games, but that was different, there was respect, and agreement that both games were great. Now we have people hating games because their on a console, so stupid, so sad.

well alberto2045, thats one of the reasons as to why the game was delayed to late 2009 early 2010. First they were looking for agreement from the different car makers to introduce damage, then they got it with some, but others were still and still are not really in favour of it. But little by little they are accepting it. The main problem is that unlike Forza or PGR, GT is actually seen as something different from a game, especially to car makers.

GT5 has most beautiful and realistic graphic than any other racing game I ever play or seen.
