Grand Turismo Races Into Stores

Grand Turismo is out, and we've got the scoop

Comments

Just arrived in stores in Japan, Grand Turismo is one of the first games to support the Sony Analog Dual Shock controller. Control is extremely good - sensitive and heavy cars feel like heavy cars. And while players can't flip cars - nor do they take damage - the rumble from the Dual Shock has a terrific impact each and every time a player loses track of the road or decides to give a friendly pat to a neighboring car.

Cars from Honda, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Toyota, Subaru, and Mazda are available, and working brake lights, a rear-view mirror view in a narrow rectangle at the top of the screen, and excellent, reflective surfaces on the cars give the game texture and realism. Instant replays look amazing, almost as if footage of the real cars had somehow supplanted the video game cruise you've just taken.
