Guillermo Del Toro's Trollhunters Movie Gets Epic, Monster-Packed Trailer
The animated conclusion to the Netflix fantasy series arrives in July.
The first trailer for Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans has been released. The feature length conclusion to producer Guillermo Del Toro's animated Netflix show Trollhunters hits the streaming service on July 21.
The new movie not only features the young heroes from Trollhunters, but also from the shows 3Below and Wizards, all of which form Del Toro's Tales Of Arcadia trilogy. The characters come together to fight the threat from the Titans, enormous creatures summoned by the evil Arcane Order, who want to destroy the Earth. Rise of the Titans looks like it will have an epic scale, and anyone loved the kaiju battles in Del Toro's Pacific Rim should find lots to enjoy. Check out the trailer below:
The voice cast for Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans includes Emile Hirsch, Lexi Medrano, Charlie Saxton, Kelsey Grammer, Alfred Molina, Steven Yeun, Nick Frost, and Nick Offerman. The movie is directed by Johane Matte, Francisco Ruiz Velasco, and Andrew L. Schmidt, with Del Toro co-writing and executively producing.
Trollhunters premiered in 2016 and was one of the first results of a deal between Netflix and Dreamworks Animation. It was based on a novel that Del Toro co-write with Daniel Krause in 2008. 3Below arrived in 2018, with Wizards following in 2019.
As a director, Del Toro has got two movies due for release this year. The period thriller Damnation Alley, starring Bradley Cooper and Cate Blanchett, is set for release in December, while his stop-motion adaptation of Pinocchio, with Ewan McGregor, is also expected later in 2021.
