I was fortunate enough to see (and more importantly, hear) him playing the lead in Phantom of the Opera on stage. At the time, I had no idea he could sing. His performance was absolutely astounding.

I kind of thought it'd be him, before I clicked on the article. Gone, but never forgotten. You were truly an excellent actor. RIP, Robert Guilaume.

R.I.P. Robert. Thank you for your great performance as Eli Vance. Sadly, Eli's death in HL2: Episode 2 may never be avenged due to Valve's reluctance to make HL3.

Man nothing but bad news lately :/ RIP. The guy truly left an impact on many people with the work he did on Half-Life. Really sad to hear this but I do recall seeing a recent video of him knowing his time was bound to come any time soon. I would say something about Valve at this point but I just don't see the point. The company has changed and I'm sure many of the fans of the Half-Life universe have kinda moved on by now. Although I am really thankful for the great memories I had when I first played the HL games. Just getting immersed with the unique world and characters like Eli Vance was a really cool experience I haven't really had with any other game since. Which is unfortunate.

I honestly think Valves attitude towards their employees is failing and encouraging laziness they haven't shipped a game since Portal 2. They have openings for level designers, artists etc but honestly what are you going to be doing apart from patches/dlc for team fortress & dota 2? Its not really an exciting career prospect if the company your working for doesn't want to fund the development of new games.

@gamingdevil800: they're a defunct studio IMO, the second all their writers walked, the second a script for not Half Life 3 was leaked [officially that's what *he said but it was HL3's script lol] and the second they announced a fracking card game was when Valve died as a developer.....Bioware went down in flames, and they're still burning, valve went out with a eh.......

*the lead writer for HL2 & Episodes

@lonewolf1044: I never did beat Half Life.....HL2 i beat at least 10X, i beat episode's 1&2 at least 5X Portal about 10X, Portal 2 about 3X L4D 1&2 IDK how many times....a lot just the way they're made you play em over and over....

i played a demo for CSGO on X360, it was okay [better than COD] but that was it....I don't really care for competitive games.....

now, if they ported Left 4 Dead both games in one package for current gen consoles, consolidated the MP and games so you play story and just play all of it in one big chunk, improved AI all around, better effects but same great gameplay and consolidate both games into one system so all weapons across both games, they'd make a f**k ton of money of that....eh, guess they don't want money right??

and what if they did an expanded CSGO game with even more maps like L4D levels?? just a cleaner version of the levels, no zombies? and grab Hal Life levels?? like black mesa areas, City 17 areas and what not?? or even a little of the back room areas and test chambers of the Enrichment center?? just for consoles?? you realize how much that'd sell?? again money averse it seems.....

at this point if i was them porting games to current gen i'd only port Half Life 2 without the episodes cus why tease people further?? but HL2 in HD and all that.....and let a new generation get a taste of a real game FFS....this sh**t needs to be done, we need a combo breaker, something that wakes people out of the slumber, i thing HL2 would be it, price it at $5 even and watch the money roll in, it'd destroy the big publishers lolz but valve doesn't like money that much so...........*sigh*
