Halo Infinite developer 343 Industries has released a PC overview trailer for the upcoming sci-fi shooter. The video features insights from the Sandbox and PC-specific teams working on the game regarding the PC edition. "Buckle up," 343 said.

"We're not just shipping a port of the console game on day one. We really are building it from the ground up to be a great game for PC players who love to customize the experience the way they want to," 343's Joseph Staten says.

The video also touches on what 343 is doing to keep the battlefield clean through anti-cheat, while the developers also talk about cross-play and cross-progression with the console edition of the game. Also in the video, the developers confirm there will be individual unique ranked playlists for keyboard/mouse, controller, and cross-play, so players can see how they stack up against people using similar control setups. Here's the video:

Additionally, 343 has announced a partnership with AMD for a new Radeon RX 6900 XT limited edition GPU themed around Halo Infinite. Check out the video below to learn more about that, while many more details on Halo Infinite for PC are available on the Halo Waypoint blog.

@hardwenzen: Yepppp, and the only campaign info they've given us since that July 2020 demo makes it sound like an Ubisoft open-world game, but further stripped down. Far Cry Lite. Seems like they don't have much confidence in it

I miss the days when PC people didn’t care about Halo. Sadly though the modern PC people aren’t the same as the ones I grew up with.

@Terrorantula: Halo 1 was out on PC before Microsoft gave them a bunch of money to keep it exclusive. Bungie's game that got them somewhat recognized was a little gem of a game called Oni that was released on PC. You can most definitely see the influences Bungie later followed to make Halo.

Also, as a PC "person" I like to game on my rig. Exclusives are awesome if you want to sell systems, and what company doesn't want to, right? However, I can't tell you how many times I've played a game on a console and thought it would be way more awesome on my PC. Now we are getting our wish more and more. Personally, Xbox's approach to PC gaming is more along the lines of what they tried to do, failed, and finally rebooted and made amends. Xbox Gamepass for PC is kinda nice. The fact that MS, who owns Xbox, is finally doing what they set out to do 10 years ago is sweet.

@naomha1: Bungie was developing Halo for MAC when Microsoft secured it. The game was not "out" or near complete. It was not a FPS shooter as it came to be under MS.

@naomha1: Didn’t Microsoft own and publish the PC version of Halo 1?

@naomha1: I agree with most.

But the mentality of "That would be/look better on my PC

meant waay more back n the day. Say Madden/NHL early 2000's

or Oblivion days.. Im not even slightly saying PC isn't always gonna be higher end. Just sayin the size of the gap was alot bigger back then then now.

~I'll never forget seeing my NHL97 hockey buddy who showed me NHL98 on his PC and i couldn't believe the quality compared to my PS1..

@sippio: Oblivion...fantastic game, and also the game that made console performance intolerable for me. From that point on, I wanted every game released on PC as well as console. We are finally nearing an equilibrium.
