Halo Infinite officially has a release date. The highly anticipated first-person shooter arrives on December 8. The campaign and multiplayer will be available at launch, but you won't be able to play co-op or access the Forge until a later date. Halo Infinite is available to preorder now. Microsoft is also releasing a limited-edition Halo-themed Xbox Series X and special Elite Series 2 controller on November 15.

As a first-party Microsoft game, Halo Infinite will also be available on day one for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers. That said, if you prefer to own a physical copy of your games, you have multiple preorder options. Considering the history of Halo releases, we wouldn't be surprised to see various Halo Infinite collector's editions pop up soon.

Halo Infinite will support Smart Delivery, so you can purchase one copy of the game to play on both Xbox One and Xbox Series X. This is reflected in the physical box art, with the new simplistic "Xbox" moniker running across the top. If you buy the digital version of Halo Infinite from the Microsoft Store or other retailers like Best Buy, you'll be able to play it on all three platforms--Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC--thanks to Microsoft's Xbox Play Anywhere initiative.
