Halo Infinite's Demo Being Remade Inside Halo 5, And It Looks Great

A creative Halo fan is remaking the Halo Infinite campaign demo with Halo 5's Forge tools, and he's streaming it all on Twitch.

A very creative and committed Halo fan is recreating the Halo Infinite campaign demo inside Halo 5, and it's looking really good so far. Twitter user Ducain23 is using Halo 5's Forge tools to re-make the Halo Infinite campaign demo, which was showcased during July's Xbox Series X-centric event, and he recently shared an update on his progress.

The images below show off the impressive-looking map, featuring imagery and objects that appear very similar to the Halo Infinite demo. We see a Warthog entering the map, with huge pillars in the background. There are Grunts in another shot, while another image shows off some of the trees and grass that was seen in the demo. In short, it all looks really good so far, and it will be intriguing to see the finished product when Ducain23 wraps it up. He says he has around 700 more objects to add, and hopefully he finds a way to work in Craig.

Ducain23 is chronicling his creation on Twitch. If you've ever dabbled with the Halo 5 Forge tools, you know how extensive they are regarding the level of depth and complexity of what can be created. Ducain23 is putting them to great use, and his behind-the-scenes videos of creating the demo in Halo 5 are educational and entertaining. You can watch them here on Twitch.

This isn't the first time Halo Infinite's demo is being remade inside another game. Someone else is using Halo 5's Forge tools to re-make Halo Infinite's campaign demo, and Microsoft has taken notice. People have used PlayStation's game-making game, Dreams, to do the same thing, while someone else has imagined what Halo Infinite might look like as a Nintendo 64 game.

Halo Infinite developer 343 recently delayed the release of Halo Infinite until 2021 due in part to complications related to working from home during the pandemic. The developer has asked fans to "hold tight" for more news regarding the game and the future of the franchise.

I'm sure the game will be fine when it launches. In the meantime looks like a launch PS5 title was delayed. Let's not talk about that though, just about Halo. People get upset for Halo being delayed, but say nothing when it comes to Sony. I mean how many launch titles do you have now Spider-Man..woah lol. Lineup on Xbox still looks way better, even without Halo.

Huge difference between Forge and Dreams in quality though. Dreams is extremely limited. I still have fun with it but it's hardly amazing. I could be great on PS5 with that extra power though.

I hope they bring back Smart Link, and to be honest I think Halo 5 against what was shown last month for Halo Infinite, the results were not that impressive. Infact it looks like they took a giant step back besides adding an option grappling hook. I remember people praising the Halo 5 gameplay besides the mediocre short campaign mode.

@mareo147: Smart Link was what they called the sort of aim down sights mechanic in Halo 5, right? It was better than nothing, but I'd rather they just go with regular ADS and flinch. Not being able to aim in a shooter as slow as Halo is maybe what makes it feel the most dated to me.

@mogan: the same and I want it come back in this new game, is just some communities well all the fanbases always want to play the same crap again and again, & again and guess what Halo is about to be 20 years old next year and for it's 20th anniversary they wa to go back to the old gameplay from Halo 1, what the heck is wrong with people in this era. Halo 5 possess great gameplay formula is just the story was a massive f up to the franchise but they can easily fix that with the next game because 343 did a good one that made Chief more approachable in Halo 4. If I was 343 I take all the time they can get atleast 2022 to not improve the visuals, but the overall gameplay. No on cares about Chief can use a optional grappling hook we want chief become a badass again like Kratos with God Of War 2018. Halo 5 gave him the abilities that was described in the novels of what Spartan can do, but due to stupid toxic class fanboys who never want to change they scrapped all of that went back to the basic bitch(no offense to anyone on here I'm not start riot between the gaming community but a riot to demand better) Halo. I'm gonna copy this comment that I made and alter it a bit and send it to every 343 forums and to them as well until it get into through their hard shell Spartan Helmets.

@mareo147: which i don't get. most of the time these developers take there work from there last game and move forward from there. its like they started from scratch and just let all there work wasted from the last game. this is how we get sequels most of the time faster than the original ip took.

@gifford38: @gifford38: I don't get it to man, but the Halo 5 gameplay formula works so well and was applauded by new and old fans at the time. They even made changes to the sprint in which you can't generate shields while running and the ads you can't stay aimed while being shot. Halo 5 gameplay improved the gameplay formula and they can easily bring back the stuff people like about old games with it. But there always those small groups of people(in every fanbase) who don't like change and rather play the same old outdated mechanics for over 20 years in which Halo is about to be 20 years old next year. It's like saying after the huge success of God of War 2018 we must go back to thee old tradition God Of War gameplay from Gow1 because the small group of individuals didn't approve the gameplay that we masterfully crafted for God of War 4.

@gifford38: lol i couldn't stand the new God of War game. I just preferred the fast paced action of the PS2 games. It was just boring apart from a couple of boss fights.

@gifford38: except half the supposed changes are in every other game so the way halo is unique is by staying the same.

i dont want the game to stay exactly the same but saying that aiming down sights etc features dont do any good by themselves when there atleast 100 other games active right now with the same features

but then there is mcc which i probably prefer anyway

what im saying these company start a new ip they create there engine to there game. once they get there game out they can use that and build and go from there. they can change many things aswell but it saves them time than to start out from scratch. they could of used halo 4-5 and build off of that and still make it look different. but having the same art style to make it feel your in the halo universe still. no reason why the game looks worse than 4 and 5.

@gifford38: I'm getting to the point that I might invest into a pc and skip this generation because there have been alot bad rumors which some are true and uninteresting games that defines last gen and Halo Infinite sadly fits that category. But for Fable, Demon's Souls, and possibly Horizon 2 and Forza Horizon 5 depends on what location they are going next but I hope it give it the same vibe and style of soudtracks like Forza Horizon 3.

i know ps5 games will not be on pc until later on in the life cycle of the ps5. like hzd1 and death stranded. if you can wait a few years to play hzd2 then get a pc. i will not wait to play hzd2 so im getting the ps5 first and xbox in 2022 if fable comes. pc just to expensive for me. because if i go to pc im going to have to have the latest gpu etc. lol. that is why i stay on console and buy the latest one. I would spend to much on pc.

Looking at this video on YouTube makes me want to play Crysis 3 again, "Halo Infinite 2020 VS Crysis 3 2013 Graphics Comparison."

I can't believe the Crysis games look that good today & hold up! Very interesting to reflect & compare.

@just1mohr: Crysis 3 killed PC's at the time though and it was also a 5 hr shooter at best.

Not knocking it , i loved the game but it was way too short.

Lol those pillars in the background look like a graphical error you got in Fo76 once and awhile. And did they steal those trees and the grass from skyrim? Nothing I see here screams next gen.

@mogan: Is a current gen game showing a next gen landscape. And Halo infinite is not going to be next gen either because it is being dumbed down to play on the xbone.

IMO the biggest mistake is what some xbox fans think is their best feature is sacrificing next gen games just to offer more backward/forward compatibility. Next biggest mistake was delaying their iconic exclusive to not release with their next gen system.

@gaeandilth: Yet PC games have had to cater for infinite differences in graphical prowess for years now and they manage it just fine. The engines are built to scale so no it has nothing to do with Xbox One holding back Series X anymore than a 1060 holds back a 2080TI.

@gaeandilth: So its dumbed down, even if it looks better and plays better on next gen. The version on the Xbox Series X is suppose to have better graphics, better FPS, load faster etc. How does that correlate to dumbed down. Also, Microsoft already came back out and said its up to the developers, if they want to develop their games for next gen only or both.

@bababooey12: You can't teach the ignorant. They seem to not want to accept that Microsoft and Sony don't play in the same field and haven't for some time. Microsoft doesn't even care about Sony or think of them as a competitor. They are more concerned with Google than Sony nowadays.

Sony for some reason are the ones running scared locking up all these exclusives such as Spiderman DLC for PS5 and even locking them out from PC. That is paranoia to be that worried as they know it is a vastly inferior product and likely to be more expensive than Series X.

Why they would lock out PC players is a mystery though with a title like Marvel Avengers of all things which is rather mediocre anyway.

@gaeandilth: I don't think delaying Halo Infinite was a mistake. If it was still rough enough that MS would delay their only flagship launch title, then it was too rough to give to players without seriously hurting that franchise.

Love how they added those ugly as **** minecraft pillars at the back of it as well. What was 343i thinking? Its the ugliest and laziest environmental structure i have seen in many years. Normally its what indie devs use because they have no budget to create something better. 500 million and 5 years btw.

@goldenageplayer: Halo 5 is not a meh looking game at all. It has stunning detail on vehicles and interiors for starters. It also has great banter between the team. Much better than most shooters as it feels so much more engaging with them updating what they are doing.

I lost interest in Playstation when they dumped Killzone and turned it into that horrible mess of a game for PS4 that was about nothing but graphics for the time. Killzone series used to be amazing before that.
