Ritual's Heavy Metal: F.A.K.K. 2 takes place in the farfetched futuristic sci-fi world of the Heavy Metal comic-book magazine. The game itself is a third-person action game that will feature artwork by comic artist Kevin Eastman. The game's protagonist, Julie, is actually based on Julie Strain, Eastman's wife.

In the game, you will guide Julie through the vast and often bizarre world of Eden2 in the fight to save the planet from the greedy Gith Industries supercorporation, which will stop at nothing to despoil the planet for its own selfish purposes. Apparently, Gith is sending out some of its nastiest agents to stake out the planet and make sure nothing goes wrong. Julie will need to run, jump, and fight off her enemies with big swords and even bigger guns. Fortunately, she's not only proficient with a wide variety of weapons, but she can also wield one in each hand.

F.A.K.K. 2 will use Quake III's powerful 3D engine to render the way-out world of Eden2 in bright colors and vivid detail. The Quake III engine's advanced lighting techniques and level-of-detail technology will ensure that F.A.K.K. 2 not only shows a great deal of color and contrast, but that it also runs at a brisk and consistent frame rate.

You'll be able to fight against the sinister Gith Corporation and explore the strange world of Eden2 with Julie this September, when the game is scheduled for release.
