Look, I get it, Nintendo is not going to go out of business tomorrow, or maybe not for ages, but that's not the point. The point is that for many of the people that are interesting in gaming enough to come to sites like this and post comments, Nintendo has become largely uninteresting. In addition, to many of the people that don't come to sites like this, the so called casuals, Nintendo has become uninteresting.

I'll give you the 3DS, yes, it's doing well and the press love some of the games. But that's basically it. What kind of killer must have game is going to get a bunch of people to buy a WiiU? A lot of the people that Nintendo normally appeals to don't even want consoles anymore, like everyone keeps saying, they're busy fiddling with their phones and tablets.

And don't forget that this is actually old news. People were saying this stuff before the WiiU even launched, before it was even officially unveiled. Remember all the analyst predictions about the troubles Nintendo would face after the success of the Wii?

<< LINK REMOVED >> The big thing that I like Nintendo consoles for is the local CO-OP. It saddens me greatly that many games are almost abandoning local multi-player all together. Look at BF4, no local what so ever, and why not? I remember the original Black Ops could only have 2 local player for the Zombies mode, even though there was no reason what so ever (the normal mode had 4 player support, and Black Ops 2 Zombies had 4 player support).

Nintendo is awesome at local multi-player (not too sure about online MP). Currently, it is my solution to the dilemma on the PC scene. I am all for consoles becoming more like PCs, but I would hate for consoles to get rid of traditional local multi-player like the PC (I really hope that the Steam Machines' push for PCs on the big screen will make a comeuppance of local MP on the PC).

As far as 3rd party support; 3rd parties are fulfilling a self-prophecy, they are worried about releasing their games on the WiiU due to it's small install base, but the install base stays small because there are only timid ports of 3rd party titles.

Support their console, and 3rd parties will come (at least the on the indie scene, as far as AAA games, you can get those on the PC for cheaper and probably a better version).
