Here Is What Rockstar's Parent Company Thinks About PS4/Xbox One Upgrades
"In general, these are all opportunities."
As part of Take-Two's earnings report today, CEO Strauss Zelnick was asked for a response to changes in the gaming landscape, including the rumored PlayStation 4 and Xbox One hardware upgrades and Nintendo's NX.
Similar to EA and Ubisoft, Take-Two doesn't seem to be losing sleep over the possibility of new consoles coming to market.
"In general, these are all opportunities," he said. "Depending how things pencil out, a successful new console gives us another opportunity to release titles whomever it comes from."
If there are indeed new consoles and enough consumers adopt them, you can expect Take-Two to show up and support them. Zelnick said Take-Two wants to be "wherever the consumer is."
"We think the people who win most are those that are the most creative, the most innovative, and the most efficient--and that's what we aspire to be," Zelnick added about console transitions.
